Fancy few days away at Half-term (if it's not too late to book?) - Myself and DD 13yrs.
Considering London, but accommodation quite expensive any suggestions on how could do this realtively cheaply, so as to leave enough dosh for for sites and travel costs?
Only suggestion won't consider is - drive up and take camping gear for camp site, not this time of year.......Brrrrrrgh!

Hi
Have you considered a youth hostel? You don't have to be a member of the YHA. There are a few hostels in London, and you can usually book a private room instead of a bed in a dorm if you want.
I took my son (10) to London last October half term and we stayed in the St Pancras hostel. I think it cost £88 for us both, bed and breakfast, in a private room.

There's a service run by Dormus 0207 240 5222 where you can phone up from 18.00 onwards and ask for a room for that night. They will then offer good rooms in top brand hotels at drastically discounted rates. The downside is you'd have to spend the day not being sure where you might end up.0

The number you gave for Dormus doesn't seem to work, is there another number.
Thanks

Hi,
The Hoxton hotel that was doing the £1 nights (sadly sold out now) are only £59..
OR...
Try the Premier Inn in Kensington - believe it or not they have fantastic reviews compared to most of the big shot and posh hotels.
They start from £70 ish.. and they are familly friendly and this is a BIG bonus - If you do a very short walk into Kensington high street theres a direct bus that goes into the very middle of London (by the palace, harrods and to covent garden ect)
Ahh - I could chat all day.
I have msn I will gladly help.
Mitch
