Moving to an Universal Credit Area

Will tax credits not know if I claim UC? If that's the case then I would probably wait to tell them and pay the overpayment back when UC is paid?
When you have gone through your identity checks and UC are satisfied you meet the first four basic conditions (age, residency, not in education etc...) then they will tell HMRC and your tax credits will be stopped. So you may have some time without money.

Thank you. Hopefully it won't be too long then but better save up a bit to make sure I can pay my bills and eat. Seems all so complicated lolIcequeen99 wrote: »When you have gone through your identity checks and UC are satisfied you meet the first four basic conditions (age, residency, not in education etc...) then they will tell HMRC and your tax credits will be stopped.
