Nervous about what to do

Hi
My family and I have been receving child tax credits for over 2 years and after a job change and salary increase in May this year, was wanting to stop the tax credit payments.
However, i still have not done so and we are into October as I was under the impression that if I did not re-apply for credits this year, payments to me would stop. They haven't.
What should I do?

You need to tell them today. The longer you leave it, the more of an overpayment might be accruing and the more you will worry about it.

  • Definitely tell them, I was like you and thought ah it'll all work out the next April......NOT.....repaying money from 2005 like Im doing now makes me sick, wish I;d told them earlier
