Loft Insulation & Cavity Wall Compensation?!

Hi,

Apologies if this has been posted in the wrong place.

A couple of weeks ago I had a door to door sales type person come on the door (which usually I ignore, but was walking down my front steps as he came into the garden), he was talking about compensation for mould damage which may have been caused by the loft insulation/cavity wall incentive by the government a few years back. (Which I believe is the cause for the damage we have had over the years since having our house done)

I took his leaflet and details on the back and said I'd have a look. I've looked for the company (Communicate Energy servies in partnership with SCECO Group or County SOS Conmunicate (handwritten)) and other related compensation threads to no avail, does anyone else know or have experience of a compensation claim, the company etc?

Thanks in advance.

I'd be very interested to hear people's experiences of this too - my parents have been approached about it and I must say i have my suspicions.
  • As per my previous post, I own a company that is involved in this market.

Cavity Wall Insulation has been causing massive problems with damp. There is a process in which you can not only have the problem resolved but also be reimbursed for money paid out trying to solve the problem/re-decorate etc as well as compensation.

You can deal with CIGA directly but they are well documented as being "difficult" (Google: "Daily Telegraph" "Cavity Wall Insulation" for a more unbiased insight).

What ever you do, don't pay money up-front, for anything, it can be done on a completely "No Win-No Fee" basis.

There are a couple of ways to make an "educated guess", without actually visiting the property. If you want my opinion I'm happy to give it, just say the word and I'll post it here on an open forum-it's just getting a bit late on a Friday evening for me to go in to too much detail right now!
