Auto Adjustment on Windows 10 Start Up

Sometimes on starting up I get a message on the screen saying Auto Adjustment and then a cursor flashes top left for well over a minute with the HD light on until it goes to the normal log on screen. On other occasions it starts up normally and quickly.

Can anyone advise how to avoid it doing this please?

  • Normally the auto adjustment message is generated by the monitor when adjusting to the resolution that you are using.

Have you got the resolution set to the optimum for the monitor? If not then every time you switch on the monitor has to analyse and adjust to the resolution you are using

I think I've resolved it. For some reason it thought it had two displays. I've changed it Show only on one in the control panel and start up is back to normal.

Thank you to unforseen and also to other people who took the trouble to look at the post.
