is Adguard safe to use

I downloaded Adguard to my android phone a couple of days ago as I become fed up on ads on websites. they used to move about which resulted with me being directed to a website I have no interest in. also used to get those annoying ones which take over the whole screen by scrolling slowly and the you have been selected to win..... blah blah blah which vibrate until you either click on or when you press the back button you have to confirm that you want to leave the site you had no intention of visiting.
Really annoying.

Now I have a VPN activated by Adguard, is this safe reguarding my personal data, I sent a lot of details and do banking on my mobile

I've not used Adguard, but from what I read you can disregard the VPN bit - it isn't a VPN that routes all your traffic via someone else's servers which is what I initially thought from your post. It uses a local VPN on the device to route all traffic via the app.

If it works for you and you trust the company to handle your data then it is safe. If you have any concerns about the company that produces Adguard and how they process your filtered data then you would say it is not safe. There are a lot of positive reviews on the play store but a concerning amount of 1* so unless someone has done an in depth review of how they handle data you need to make that decision yourself.

I use adguard on Yandex browser (built-in) on all my pc and lappys, works reasonably well
