saving iphone photos where?

I have 3700 photos on my iphone and countless videos. So many photos we take nowadays as it is so easy! I need to save them and take them off my phone, but I worry about saving them up in space somewhere and that I will lose them somehow at some point. It's not the same as physically having them in a trunk up in your attic and finding them when you are supposed to be clearing up and wasting hours looking through them!

My question is where do people nowadays keep all their photos? I really don't know what to do for the best - I don't want to print out 3700 photos, it will cost me a fortune!

Thank you.

  • I store my files (video, photo, WP etc.) on an external HDD.

Very important ones also get burned to DVD.

  • Mine are on a nas (2 X 1TB drives mirrored), another external drive & a couple of google servers somewhere in the world via google photos

Another for Google photos plus imageshack to cover ones off an actual camera..
  • All the photos on my iPhone6 are all automatically sent to the Photos program on my Windows 10 laptop automatically within moments of being taken or sent to me.

They stay there even when I've deleted the photos on the iphone.

I don't know how it works but I'm sure I've probably done something to enable it.
