Paypoint Problem.

Hi, not sure if this is going to be a problem but i have just paid my council tax as i usually do with Pay Point but this time on my receipt i have noticed there is one less barcode number, a seven is missing from the end. I am concerned as i dont know how it works and if my money will go to my account. The retailer said she scanned the bar code so should work and a cancellation and refund isn't possible.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated

If there is a problem (guessing there won't be if they scanned the barcode) then it's Paypoint you need to call, not the retailer. The retailers are not able to give refunds on Paypoint to my knowledge and have no way of changing or reversing a transaction.0

I messaged Paypoint as there was no option to ring them. This is their reply to my query...
"The last digit on your payment swipe card/barcode is the luhn digit and will always be missing from the receipt whether the media swipes/scans or if the number had to be hand keyed. This is for data protection. If an incomplete number had been entered the terminal would have been unable to recognise it and complete the transaction."
I will ring the council mid week to make sure my payment has got to them but feel a bit reassured for now0 -
