Spending less. My realization of brand name vs shops' own value brand

I dont think there is many benfits to being a brand snob.
I usually get all my tinned veg from the value stuff, you cant tell the difference.
I wont buy cheap meat though, Cheap mince is a big no, no. My chilli is really chewy and fatty with the cheap stuff. I buy the low fat stuff for about £2 and its much better.
Loo roll. I buy sainsburys mid-range brand. Thats fine. I will also look out for bargains and offers and will stock up if the deals are good. Cook in sauces etc.
I buy own brand pasta and rice - you cant tell the difference
Own brand (pure) orange juice.
I think its just trail and error, there are some things I wont buy own brand, but its worth finding out how good you think they are and it could save you loads.
I always buy value tinned things (beans and tomatoes) because I always use them in a chilli or lasagne.
I got some value high juice and I think it tastes a bit weird, so I'll probably go back to Robinson's or Ribena. Ice cream is another thing I can't tell. When I buy chocolate, it's usually to melt peanut butter in (mmmmmmmm) so I get the tesco brand. My husband still likes Haagen Daz (or whatever) so I treat him to a tub of that when he has a craving.0 -
If you really cant give up your radox get boots vouchers from your pigsback clicks then stock up when its on offer.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Hmmmmm Cleethorpes to Glasgow..............could cost me quite a bit in petrol
Thanks for that info though. I never really look in the pound shops but there is one near my butchers so will have a look next time I go.
(I'm another one who doesn't buy meat in supermarkets..........I use the best butcher in town and people probably think its expensive but I have just bought myself a second hand freezer to put in the shed to stock up on meat when they have it on offer. I'm hoping its going to save me a fortune. They have an offer this week on stewing steak. Buy 3lb and get 2 lb free
) Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600
