PEA Parking Fine Belfast

Hi
Just looking for a bit of advice with regards to a parking fine from PEA. The car was parked in a private car park. The fine is £100 or £60 if paid within 14 days. PEA has taken over this car park due to other random people parking their cars in the private car park causing residents to complain ....... However the disc was covered slightly, so hey presto £100 fine.
What i would like to know is does this fine need to be paid as i am aware many companies are private etc... and if so would anyone have any advice with regards to appealing. I don't believe this is fair nor acceptable as a long term resident and have never had an issue like this before.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (Apologises for the long post)
Thanks

  • Edit your post. remove any clue as to the drivers identity.

Belfast so ignore. THey cannot hold the keeper liable, to my knowledge, as POFA only applies to England and Wales.

PEA are also a private parking company. They cannot issue fines. What you have is not a 'fine', but a speculative invoice.

Please read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 for advice on how to deal with one of these in NI (you and Scotland are more fortunate than those in E/W).

PPC's will struggle to take anyone to court in N.Ireland as long
as the driver is not known.

You just ignore but do complain to your management company
who are responsible for what their agents get up to.

    Ask them to cancel this

Be prepared for "crazy frog" debt collector letters to arrive but
as they have no power you just ignore them as well

REMEMBER ..... THE DRIVER IS NOT KNOWN
Don't be sucked into this scam especially as it's residential
  • Beamer - please edit your post. No need to quote them revealign the drivers identity, as they cant edit it.

You mean revealing I think. Well the OP refers to "his car" RK
  • Yes, the single letter swap typo was fairly obvious.

Just edit it. It was an unnecessary quote and takes away a choice for the OP that is theirs to make.

I am lost what quote ?
  • The first post you made on this thread quotes the OPs entire first post, without need.
  • what was the outcome of this as i have had a similar experience and have how recieved a letter from "Ultimate Customer Solutions" stating "Legal Action Pending". they have gave me one last chance reducing the amount to pay from £160 to £120.

They are debt collectors to be ignored (see post #4 of the NEWBIES thread).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
