Received a letter today from Wright Hassall LLP demanding payment within 14 days otherwise they will take the issue to County Court and I will be liable for the other parties' legal fees too. What should I do next? Ignore this letter and await the court date, then come back here for the self-defence text? Thanks in advance!
Depends who they ask you to pay.
Is it really Wright Hassall or ZZPS whereby Wright Hassall
pimp out their letterhead to down and outs.
If it is the real Wright Hassall, then you as the KEEPER
deny any debt and request positive proof of the claim0 -
Thanks Beamerguy. Will check when I get home and come back to you. Does the recent case in Cardiff (I think prosecution lawyers were Wright Hassall) change anything wrt defending these in court or is each case taken on a case by case basis?0

WH never get involved in the dirty end of day to day county court cases chasing £100. The case in Cardiff was somewhat different. Ignore that.
Almost certainly you’ve had a ZZPS letter on WH headed notepaper. A debt collection letter and can be ignored. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I thought the super 'Johnersh response' to a WH 'pseudo LBCCC' letter is in the NEWBIES thread post #2?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You are not being prosecuted, this is just local court stuff0 -
So just to check understanding a CCJ can only be issued AFTER a court case and if I have not paid the 'fine' or court costs issued? I can't get a CCJ prior to any hearing?0
-
correct
if you lose its applied due to the judgment going against you at that hearing
its what the J means
J for Judge
J for Judgement
you then have 28 days to pay it off IN FULL and get it expunged from the court records and therefore no effect on your credit rating
no court = no judgment = no CCJ (think about it)0 -
Thanks Redx -confirmed my understanding too.0

i am awaiting for my debt collecter letter and was interesting to read your thread having had the similar case with PWE. I am really not looking forward to writing to landowners having two babies to care of timeconsuming but reading these threads I fear I will got to get there too. Also reading the threads assured me I have done the right thing not to pay to PWE such a ridicolous amount of charge all because their machine does not work....0

You must complain to the SRA, as well as replying as I said already, Johnersh-styleee:
