Tip for packing........

If you've got a paper shredder then shred your envelopes and use that for packing - it's free and coz of junk mail I've got a steady supply of it
If I am running short of shredded envelopes then I shred unimportant paper as well like junk mail or paper the kids have scribbled on
I'm new to this part of MSE so I hope someone finds this tip useful

Collect the sheets of bubble wrap from the fruit & veg section of supermarkets, and also look for the big sheets of thick brown paper that keep the layers of sugar bags separated on the pallet.
The staff don't seem to mind - saves them having to cart it out to the skip!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Totally agree, Ive never had to buy bubble wrap in the last 4yrs of ebaying!
I also save other packages which come through the post, and re-cycle them. From bags to jiffy's to normal envelopes. However I do state in my terms I always re-cycle packaging material, (just to cover my back) as there is always one who will complain!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. When re-using any type of packaging (jiffy envelopes/boxes) is to use a hair dryer to remove the old sticky labels/tape, just lift the corner of the label with a flat blade and be careful not to burn your fingers (try various heat settings). Also good for unsealing envelopes of all kinds for re-sealing at a later date.0

I always work out how much the postage will be and then put the exact price on Ebay eg £2.91, etc and then mention in my item descriptions that the postage is the price it is coz that's as low as I could possibly make it - I've never had any complaints
Don't mention anything about recycling packaging coz that's not what they're paying for :rolleyes:You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs:rotfl:

Thats why I always put in my description ref recycling materials, cos they know upfront what they're paying for and what to expect when it arrives. My items, are lowly priced anyway. I would never dream of charging anyone for a new jiffy bag, and then use a pre-used one!
Once I had someone send me an item in cheap tack xmas paper, (which had to be bagged up by the RM as it was all torn & damaged) only then did I point out that she described all her items are posted in brown paper! Obviously not on that occasion!
Its ok to recycle products as long as you point this out!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0
