Six nights in Vienna - a nightmare to plan - help

I am trying to book a week in Vienna leaving on 19th September, returning 25th September. I have been on Tripadvisor and Expedia so far, and whilst the hotels are fine, the flights are an absolute nightmare to plan.
I have put in Luton airport, but it is really bizarre. Although only a two and a half hour flight, the options with Expedia are coming up with one stop and a total time of between eleven and twenty two hours.
On Tripadvisor, the out flight from Luton was normal, but it was showing the return flight to Gatwick or Southend:eek:
I am starting to tear my hair out, because the OH has always wanted to go to Vienna, and I do not wish to fall short.

    Easyjet fly to Vienna from Luton, but not on a Tuesday - do you have to fly out on 19th? Can you fly from other airports than Luton - there are Easyjet flights from LGW on Tuesdays

    You'll get a lot more options if you're willing to fly from other London Airports. As Twopints says, there are no non-stop options from Luton on 19/9 and one-stop options are limited to Vueling.

    Maybe split your trip between Vienna and Bratislava to increase your flight options. They are only about an hour apart by train.

    could be the hassle of having to read advice and then act upon it ?

    I think id rarger drive to gatwick Stansted or Heathrow rather than to Vienna!

    There must be at least a dozen flights to Vienna from London every day, it really shouldn't be a hassle to find some that suit you.
