Wasp nest

I live on top floor 3 storey flat. I have got wasps getting into a light fitting on the landings outside my door. There are some dead wasps falling on to landings and stairs.
A pest control person was out but could not see a nest when he shine torch into loft space Said he could not do anything. Light fitting cleaned out but wasps continue to be trapped there They are alive early in an but dead a few hours later.
The pest control people say that they would need a Cherry Picker to check the eaves etc . Cost of this minimum of £200 for first 2 hrs.
It is a leasehold property. And for over 55.
We do pay a high maintenance charge and the charges would come out of this
My question really is if left alone would the wasps just die off.
Previously 2 bests treated Different years but they identified the best and able to treat it with access through a window

I use these to 'try' to kill a nest that was in a cavity just outside of my house in one of the eves. I could see the hole they were going in through -

I'd use a bit of powder in and around the light fitting to put the wasps off.. then just wait. It's winter soon. It'll kill them off. Wasps aren't meant to go back to the same sites year after year.

Also consider that winter isn't that far away; they'll be done once the cold kicks in.

Thanks for your response I am elderly so would not be able to get up to the light fitting
I think I need to get the Manager to speak.to the Pest Control Company

If they aren't bothering anybody, why not just wait a few weeks as suggested above and they will disappear.

Wasps also don't re-use old nest sites, so don't remove the next and they won't come back
