New laptop / antivirus help pls?

Hi all, I have a new laptop, which had a free trial of Mcafee antivirus. This expired last week, with an offer to renew for £40.
After reading Martins advice I have now installed Panda antivirus for free.
Do I now delete the other Mcafee antivirus (I'm not too good with computers) If I am to delete this, can you tell me how?
I'd be so grateful for any advice.

Yes, only have one antivirus programme installed as they can conflict with each other.
To uninstall - assuming Windows 10 - hold down the Windows flag key and X key >>> click on Control Panel >>> click on Uninstall a Programme >>> delete Mcafee.0 -
