paying right tax ?

hi my daughter is not married has a main job works full time, she has a salaried wage , so never no overtime etc
monthly gross is 1499.67 monthly it says tax BR she is paying without looking again approx. £280-290 per month tax and around £120 NI
basically she only just brings home approx. £1,0048 by time deductions have been made is that about right...it seems a lot to me ?

she does have a casual job part time occasionally when she can fiit it in for about 6 hrs that wage says TAX DO rate on about £56 wage she brings home about £34 ?? :(

anyone any ideas if firstly the iat main job she has that is about right tax she shoul be paying as it seems a lot to be deducted 400 out of a 1,499.67p monthly wage
thanks in advance
