    The BSE scare never put me off eating beef, as I'm sure if I was going to contract it then I would have done long before we were made aware of it, and neither have any of the other food scares that the Government have announced over the years. The most recent Sudan problem didn't affect me anyway as I don't buy any of the processed junk that appeared on the lists ;)

    I turned veggie in 1990 because of Mad Cow Disease and haven't eaten beef (or any other meat or fish) since. I think that it's put me off for life.

    With regards to the 'use by' date, hey, you have 6 more days before they magically go 'off' overnight ;)
