Pick one from ebay that doesnt have reviews saying it wont work.
If you get one, and it doesnt work , return it.
Alternatively, got one from amazon for a tenner ?

Or your local computer shop ? Argos ? Asda ?
Anyone with a returns policy

A recommendation I suppose, someone who has a cheap decent one and can vouch for it.
Will have a look at the Amazon one, thank you0 -
I bought 2 on ebay last year. Both were Xbox cameras which are 720p IIRC. One was ~£5 and the other I got for about £3.50
Both worked perfectly (until I dissected one of them to remove the IR filter) and didn't need any extra drivers. Good quality at a low price compared to some of the more recent muck being sold.0 -
Webcams don't need drivers on a basic level, Windows XP and later knows what to do with them - the USB Video Class introduced in 2004 means they don't need drivers for the likes of SkyPE and what not.
You may need drivers if the webcams do other funky stuff but for most users this doesn't apply.0 -
I bought a Microsoft one from from ASDA, normally £30 but i paid £6 on sale.
Good reviews on video quality but average for sound. I find the sound good but the reviewers are also comparing it to cameras costing a lot more.
Looking for a good "budget" cam for youtube etc. Their idea of a budget cam is $600 minimum and a lot will snigger at using something at that price.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
