just been into currys (for something else) and they said you can have the console and THREE games for £350 not two.

I bought a console bundle tonight from Virgin Megastores in the Trafford Centre in Manchester:


Virgin offer the 60GB PS3 with an option of two games and an extra sixaxis controller for £350

OR:

the 60GB PS3 with an option of two games and two blu-ray discs for £350. They do not have many of the advertised blu-rays in stock so they allowed me to choose ANY two blu-rays (including new releases).

I bought the PS3 with Resistance Fall of Man, Heavenly Sword, Casino Royale and 300. I didn’t want the extra sixaxis controller (probably will buy when the rumble version is released). I am going to sell the 300 blu-ray to reduce the cost further.

You can also get a further 10% off if you use a Virgin credit card.

I am pretty happy with this deal. HMV had a similar good deal too but wouldn’t price match the extra sixaxis controller. I checked John Lewis (£350 for 60GB console only), GAME (£350 for 60GB + 2 games), Selfridges (same as GAME), WHSmith (£425 for 60GB + 2 games), Currys (£425 for 60GB + 2 games) and the Sony Centre (None) but their deals were not as impressive as what Virgin and HMV offered.

I tested the PS3 at home and it’s amazing! I’ve finally got a use for my HDTV and Resistance, Casino Royale and Heavenly Sword look awesome (especially Heavenly Sword). Definitely money well spent!

the best ps3 deals i can find are on http://www.ps3-offer.co.uk which is the 60gb ps3 with 2 games and a hdmi cable for £349.99 and £369.99 with 3 games, or the 40gb ps3 with a game and HDMI for £304.99, the 60gb will not be around for long though as most sources say stocks will run out jan/feb next year, then only the 40gb will be available, at which point i think sony will bring out a new ps3 with bigger memory to coincide with the rumble controller or go the other way and bring out a cheaper version, there is a 20gb white ps3 just come out in japan for the equivilent of less than £200 (lucky sods!), we will probably continue to get ripped off for the next few years though!

These links show the PS 3 without the games/HDMI cables mentioned, I take it the offers have now changed. Anyone else any other good recommendations?
