Beko Washing Machine froze

Hi all,

After finishing a rinse, my washing machine froze.
When I turn the dial, all that shows on the screen is the timer 00:00, the rinse symbol and the flashing start symbol. When I turn it on Rinse, the Spin numbers pop up, and when I press start, the timer turns to 00:18. The start symbol just flashes unresponsive.

I've tried diagnosis/test mode, which also doesn't work. I get no error code and pressing the start button does not trigger any test cycles.

Any suggestions?

Model: WMB71442S

Thanks in advance.

  • Have you switched it off at the mains, left it a few seconds then switched it back on again? You might then be able to get it to work or to go into test mode.

Are the clothes still in the machine? Is there still water in it?

If the machine still has water in it on my Beko there is a flap on the front bottom. Open the flap and inside there is a rubber tube. Extend it out, have a container ready, pull off the end cap and drain.

That is for my Beko but i imagine its the same.

It doesn't sound like worn carbon brushes on the motor something which I've had to change twice.

The symptoms of that is the machine spins slower and slower so the clothes are still wet and eventually won't spin at all.
  • I've switched off the mains and emptied the filter.
The drum is empty with no water.
I've left it on, thinking the timer would go down and fix itself but still no luck.

It seems glitched as nothing happens on the screen, especially because the test mode doesn't work.
