First-time Buyer status

Hi

For many reasons my girlfriend and I are thinking of selling our flat, renting for a while and then buying again.

Are there any rules about first-time buyer status in doing this as part of our thinking is that we won't be in a chain and that we will be more attractive to sellers but there are many other reasons. However, would we qualify as first-time buyers as far as mortgage offers might be concerned?

Thanks

Damian

I've recently heard on what I considered to be good authority (can't be 4rsed to google it right now), that under the T&Cs of many building societies you are deemed a FTB again I think after 9 months have elapsed since your last mortgage.

But I've not double checked that.

There's a crash coming so get out now.
As for buying again after the crash you'll be lucky if the banks lend you the pen to sign the agreement.
