Hello.
Im wanting some help advise and well i dont know im lost in a pain and unsure what to do.
Im 24, been in the army sins i was 18. I got diagnosed with Trigeminal neuralgia 1 years ago but have had it over 2 years, i have had a brain operation to try solve the issues (MVD) microvascular decompression on the left have side of my brain.
It has not solved the issues it has been over 9 weeks sins the operation and due to my age i should not have this and the surgent is clueless to why this has not worked due to you should feel no pain with in 1-3 weeks.
It look like i have to leave the army, as due to the pain it is to much for me, im on so much medication its unreal.
Microvascular decompression (MVD) has a high success rate of 85%, with a normal patient's having no pain within 1-3 weeks after the operation. My surgeon cannot see me for up to 3 months as there is a waiting list due to the NHS being over loaded.
Trigeminal neuralgia affects females slightly more often than males. Trigeminal neuralgia occurs most often in people over age 50. The incidence of new cases is approximately 12 per 100,000 people per year. I am 24 somehow, I have it. I believe it was bad dental work from last year with the advice I have been given. I have had microvascular decompression (MVD) on the left-hand side of the brain to attempt to solve the facial pain.
When i leave the army i dont know what to do where to turn, i dont know if im entitled to any money, i dont know if i can get another job as im class and unreliable as the pain can strike at any time lasting from 5-10 mins to 5-6hours.
Any help or advise would be very grate full .
Regards

There's a lso a PIP self test here..http://www.mybenefitsandwork.co.uk/pip/indexxx.php
ESA could be an option once you leave the Army but you would need a DR's fit note to be able to claim this. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/employment-and-support-allowance/before-you-apply-for-esa/eligiblility-for-esa/0 -
OP after leaving the army I would advise contacting the RBL (British legion) they should be able to help.0

Can your army unit / organisation sort out some financial help and support before you leave?Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0
