DAS are the market leaders. Most insurance brokers have access to their standalone policies. They do not tend to sell direct.
Details here

First Assist are also a major supplier who appear to have a product they market direct.

As with all these covers, they do not cover pre-existing situations.0 -
A separate 'Personal' policy can be purchased from as little as £10 to £20 pa from a Broker. As mattymoo stated, will exclude all per-existing situations, as the date of occurrence of the insured incident must be within the period of insurance.
The premium is cheap, as the premiums of the many pay for the claims of the few.0 -
Ideally, I need a company that will cover incidents that may occur in property I rent out. DAS have covered this in the past but now decline cover for rented out property - I know not why !!0

Is it necessary to have legal protection on both my home insurance as well as my motor insurance or does the cover provided by the home insurance cover motor claims? I've always been advised to have both but it seems mad to pay for the same protection twice?
Anybody able to shed some light on this for me?0 -
You need a Landlord's Legal Expenses, which can be purchased standalone but costs alot more than £10-£20 for the Personal Legal Expenses.
The Landlord's policy covers legal costs pursuing others for:
Gaining possession of your property.
Damage caused to your property.
Recovering rent owed to you.
Would suggest trying an Insurance Broker, who hopefully can help.0
