Yesterday. I flew from East Midlands (thankfully not with Ryanair) but, two R flights were on gates next to mine.

I saw two couples, one per flight with THREE standard sized hand luggage suitcases between them. How on earth were they allowed that?

    No flights cancellled then?

OK, stand down, as you were and within the rules.
  • I'm a bit confused by these couple of sentences :

"If you've already booked a flight which departs prior to 1 November there's no change and your hold luggage will be as it was when you booked. Likewise, if you've already booked a 15kg bag on a flight after 1 November, you can still check this in to the hold.

"If you book any flight from today onwards, the new hold luggage rules will apply, regardless of whether this is before or after 1 November"

Do the new rules apply from November 1st, or only if you book a flight from 6th September ("today")?

We're flying to Berlin in October. The cheapest sane (i.e. not rising at 5 am) option was to fly one way with Ryanair and the other with easyJet. No problem with easyJet. However with Ryanair we would have to pay £5 each for "two cabin bags" - i.e so that the bag we could carry for free with easyJet wouldn't be consigned to the hold. There are two of us, so that's £10, right? That's what they said would be added. Best to check knowing Ryanair though, and lo and behold they had added £20. Thinking I must have made a mistake, I removed it and tried again. Same result. A breakdown showed that they had added fast track as well, which I hadn't asked for. It did let me remove it, but why sneak it on in the first place? Incidentally their FAQ says that it costs "from £4". Who gets it for £4?

When you add priority boarding, it will then ask if you wish to add fast track security as well. The choices are 'No thanks' and 'Add to trip'. Evidently you clicked 'Add to trip' without reading what was on the screen in front of you.
