It was the Airbus we travelled on, unfortunately, we did not have a choice as it was part of the tour and i was not aware of MyTravels shortcomings before we went.
The strange thing is that we flew out with Thomas Cook, part of the same group, and it was perfectly acceptable

MyTravel's A330s hold 360 passengers to Thomas Cook's 354. MyTravel's A330s have their toilets downstairs (a unique feature!), which means they can get the extra 6 seats in the extra space upstairs, and can also offer very slightly more legroom in certain seats over Thomas Cook.

I wonder if you booked with Canadian Affair? If so you may have travelled on a Thomas Cook 757, they have one or two specially configured just for Canadian Affair, which offer very good legroom. They have just 187 seats (usually 235 in the 757). However these are just for Canadian Affair and are not representative of Thomas Cook's usual service, which is just as good or bad as MyTravel.

MyTravel and Thomas Cook are part of the same group, they merged this year though, which means they are currently only the same by name, they still operate very much as Thomas Cook and MyTravel. It will take a good year or two for them to be fuly merged.

Thanks for your reply, we booked as a package with Travelsphere who obviously look for the best deal from the airlines, as we had paid nearly £5000 for our holiday, two of us, you can understand why I objected to being treated like a chicken in a cage!

I do not see why I should pay £25 each, each way extra for decent leg room, my friend tells me that life's too short to drink cheap wine, depends on how much you want to drink, I suppose!
