Sometimes an extra eighth of an inch is all you need!

It is getting colder this time of year.
  • Let's face it - we're all marking time waiting for the OP to come back with the "evidence".

Presumably you mean 98% accuracy? If not, that's a pretty poor surveyor's wheel. I'd get more accuracy from a hammer.

Not if you tried to measure out 1/4 mile by turning the hammer over end to end :D

The trundle wheel needs to have no slippage and driven exactly over the distance (no meandering from side to side, skidding over potholes or going up and down speedhumps) as well as being made so the circumference is accurately known in the first place.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

But you know what an eighth is, yoof?

Once I've received the further evidence from the Camera Partnership I'll post back.

That was a week ago. Have you received anything and, if so, what does it show? If it shows you weren't speeding (because of the technology) it really needs to be broadcast as wide as possible so that other innocent drivers are not prosecuted.

So does the"evidence" (I presume you've received by now) show that a car with your reg no was captured speeding or not?

I hope you come back (as promised) OP, because it helps other posters in a similar predicament. If you have found a problem with speed measurement (I doubt it) please tell us. Otherwise it's a bit disingenuous to ask for advice on this forum.

    Half of a quarter...? 0.125x?

As for "yoof"... Well, I probably seem it - I was born (just) post-decimalisation...
