Im always astounded by the price these AV companies try to charge for repeat business !!
Use the Mcafee removal tool from here : https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter/portal/cp/home/articleview;jsessionid=S9FRcbLBOhoeT0S21EOwqZjn-zTJOVs7XDFcuXdSQVFORLH4KUko!-930056727!-562850338?articleId=TS101331&_afrLoop=660659912780557#!%40%40%3F_afrLoop%3D660659912780557%26articleId%3DTS101331%26centerWidth%3D100%2525%26leftWidth%3D0%2525%26rightWidth%3D0%2525%26showFooter%3Dfalse%26showHeader%3Dfalse%26_adf.ctrl-state%3D1b8rzg5vn1_4
And install bitdefender free0 -
Does bitdefender include a firewall if not what do I use0
-
Windows firewall of course . Perfect for the job and already built in0
-
Yes, Bitdefender with Windows firewall and a modicum of common sense, will suffice.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
A PIRATE
Not an Alcoholic...!0 -
Or if you must keep it, buy it new for £24 online...£88 really is extortionate. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
-
No, dont do that
Never pay for AV0 -
Such a scam. You can renew for £88 or buy new for £24..... I'm fairly sure you can de-register, wait a while, remove the product, then buy for £24 and re-install. Why not, if you are used to it and don't want to change. They rely on inertia selling with the renewals...0

Because it is a complete rip off praying on peoples insecurities
And because this is a money saving website and the free alternatives work just as well and are not full of bloat that slows your machine0 -
Historically the amount of scorn and opprobrium which McAfee antivirus has received has been considerably greater than that for most other AVs put together*. Hearing about this attempted rip-off might bolster such views...
* I leave out Trusteer Rapport/Endpoint Security from the "other AVs", because it isn't really an AV.
