Next Mattress (memory foam sunk) Unhappy - What can I do?

Hello All,
I am after some advice so I know if there is anything that I can do or if we've made a huge boo boo
In July 2016 we purchased a Mattress from Next at a cost of over £1000.
The mattress has a foam topper on it, within the first few weeks we noticed the mattress had started to 'sink' in the areas where we slept, but we continued to use it and turn it regularly as per the instructions that came with it.
A few months later I reported this to Next, as I was starting to get more concerned with it (& my husband started to complain he wasn't sleeping well in the ditch)
Next were really good & sent an independent company out to inspect the mattress. Who came and did some tests. There were places on the mattress that showed up to a 6cm drop in places.
The conclusion however was that it's standard for a memory foam topped mattress to settle and 6cm didn't justify a fault it was normal.
Roll on a few more months and the mattress is now just over a year old, there is a noticeable difference between the middle of the mattress and the 2 places where we actually sleep (its a super king size so you could fit another adult in between us!) My husband jokes that the middle of the bed is like been on a hill.
We're at the point now where we're really not happy with the mattress and neither of us are sleeping very well now as it's just not comfortable.
In an ideal world I'd like Next to swap the mattress for a different type, but as I've explained the independent company deemed the mattress ok and it's now over a year old so I highly doubt this would happen.
Ultimately it's now a case of is there anything that I can do, do I have a leg to stand on if I complain again to Next or do we have to cut our losses and purchase another mattress and put it down as a very expensive mistake
Many thanks for any advise.

Have you spoken to Next? They may still offer to send out the company to inspect it who could find it is faulty now, just because the fault wasn't apparent the first time doesn't mean they wont be able to see it now?0

But isn't the point of a memory foam mattress that it "moulds" to your shape? Isn't that the "memory" part of it?
That's one of the reasons I've never been interested in one.0 -

I think that will be the next step, to complain again as I feel it's sunk even more than last time. I'm just worried they'll still say it's ok.. then we're back to square one. I can't help but feel there must be something they have to do to ensure it is right for us.Manxman_in_exile wrote: »But isn't the point of a memory foam mattress that it "moulds" to your shape? You're correct.. however it's suppose to go back to original shape.. but ours doesn't the 2 body shaped moulds stay there permanently.
I think overall I'm just annoyed at myself, because for once we had the money so we treated ourselves to a new bed and what we thought was a decent mattress, that we hoped we'd have a long time. (our last mattress lasted 9 years and it was only £150)
I think I've learnt a lesson that just because it's more money doesn't mean its better!0 -
Memory foam does bounce back but eventually no longer does .
Dont know extra what you get for a grand though .0
