Moving House - Lose existing tarrif?

We have recently moved house and I am sorting out the Gas & Elec. At our old house we were on the Scottish Power Online Energy Saver 1 tarrif. I have been told it is not possible to keep this tarrif at our new house (just down the road) and that we must go with the current offering - Online Energy Saver 4. Is this true? I was told it was because SP didn't previously supply the new house but sounds more like "computer says no" to me! JC

Hi,
If they have replaced the tariff with online 4 then you old property was on a preserved tariff. I'm not sure but I can tell you that Suppliers don't usually allow you to add a preserved tariff when you move elsewhere if the time to sign up to the deal has ended whether or not they supplied the new property.
See if the tariff is offered on the comparison sites. If not, it's an old deal now so chances are they are no longer allowed to offer it to you.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
