  • Good morning,

Dull morning in Glasgow today. I feel that's going to be the standard for the foreseeable.

Last night I tried to make eggs Benedict for dinner but my hollandaise sauce split so I went without. I then played football and came home for a shower, read and sleep. Although it did take me a while to nod off, rather restless.

Been to the gym this morning with no plans for this evening. I think I'll clean my windows. God, I'm getting old. Could never have imagined the day I'd say that haha!

AoD - Not sure if you're popping on here tomorrow morning, but if not, I hope it all goes well.
TA - I'm beginning to think you'd be better off actually moving to Leeds with the amount of travelling you do.
Gers - Congrats on future fibre. Very jealous.

    Morning everyone,

Dull and a bit cooler today, like others it was really muggy yesterday so I kicked the covers off in the night but ended up cold early this morning, doesn't help that DOH likes to make himself into a sausage roll with everthing wrapped around him!
Off into town this morning as have a few chores to do, change library books, visit the market etc, I got most of the urgent things for Lulu yesterday apart from a lidded feed bowl so will need to have a look in town, trouble is being Newmarket the tack shops tend to be pricey :(
Am going to do a Thai butternut squash curry for supper, it's one of the £1 recipes out of the Miguel Barclay fast and fresh recipe book, my current favourite.

Hope all goes well tomorrow AOD

Have a good day folks x

    Hi everyone,

I'm still in my dressing gown, I think I might have caught a lurgy that DS seemed to have when we saw them on Sunday. I've also got a sore face and head because I was teeth clenching last night. Not far to go with the reason for that with the world as it is at the moment.

I've only got today at home this week, tomorrow I'm puppy minding at DD's and on Thursday we're of to the Wirral to the funeral of a family friend.

On a positive note DH's redundancy is almost settled, hopefully it will all be signed off by Thursday and then we can settle down to planning.

Hope you feel better soon. Youngest is ill with a bad cold. It always goes to his chest though and i can see an appointment having to be made tomorrow.

I'm looking at accommodation in Cardiff this morning. Grump has been offered 2 years work in a supervisory role in February. Looking at prices to see if its financially viable. Still, a lot can happen between now and February.

Would you be going there too? Big move for two years work. My fingers are crossed for a good outcome!

Morning induction wasn't as bad as I had feared. Once I arrived home the Openreach bloke had cleared all but one fault on my phone line, the one left he couldn't find. I'm so o:j my phone line is no longer crackling and my broadband is working so much better.

The sun has come out this afternoon though it's still too windy to sit out. Not enough washing to do a load either. Ah well, I'll just have to do nothing much except laptop work.

My monthly online banking is done. I caused myself a wee while of panic as I inadvertently transferred the wrong (large) amount to one account, luckily found it fairly quickly and transferred it back.

    Cup of tea time!
  • Afternoon folks

We looked after DGS this morning and the met DD after work to go to Cribbs Causeway to get shoes for DGS. He had had a growth spurt in the last two weeks since his feet were last measured. Clarks was full to bursting but only a 15 minute wait and the assistant was brilliant.

After that we had lunch, bought a couple of things then went back to DD's for coffee. Back home and DH made the bed I stripped this morning. The towels are hopefully nearly dry on the line and I am flopped in the chair catching up on here.

So have a good evening nfolks.

    Hi everyone
I went into town this morning to get my hair cut, it was badly needed as I had to cancel my last appointment as I was ill and then had to wait a few weeks for another one. Went to Home Bargains for a few bits and then met my mam, dad and youngest Dd for a very nice lunch. It was dad's treat before I go back to work tomorrow, He doesn't like it when I go back after school holidays ( he has dementia ) even though I finish work at 3pm and still go to see him most days.
Came home and did my ironing and a little bit tidying and then had a nice lazy time with my cuppa and laptop. Had a nice chat with eldest DD as she was walking home from work. Just need to give my shoes a quick polish ready for work tomorrow. I could have done with a new pair but I'll just wear them till it gets cooler and then I'll be in my ankle boots. I sent eldest DD a photo when I tidied the shoes in the bottom of my wardrobe - I have 8 pairs of black ankle boots - in my opinion, all slightly different!
Right, going to make a move - I seem to have gone very lazy!

Judi my DH rented a 1 bed flat on the west side of Cardiff near the Bay for 8 months back in 2009 - the roads are good, supermarkets not far away and walks around the Bay if your Grump wants it ;)

Nope. He will come home weekends like he has always done.
