I wonder if anyone can help....
I received a letter from Northampton court in August 2014 regarding a defaulted credit card from Aqua. I filled in the financial details and offered to pay £10 per month. As it was worked out that my income was less than my earnings at the time ( I was a full time mature student ) nothing was pursued further and the £10 per month was never agreed by M/C. I have had no further communications from Mortimer Clarke or the court since September 2014. Until 25 th July 2017 when I receive a letter from M/C asking me how I was going to pay the £10 per month with my income being less than my outgoings.... now on the 2nd September I have decided a letter from Northampton court saying they accept my original £10 a month settlement and that I have had a judgement registered against me on 31st July 2017....
I have now contacted M/C offering to pay £250 in ff settlement on the understanding the ccj is removed .... they have not accepted this.... original debt was £1000.
My problems are firstly why was the ccj not registered in 2014 .... which would now be 3 years old and have less influence on my credit file and secondly I have made two offers to pay and both have been refused.
Do I have any arguement over the timescale between my initial offer in 2014 and the judgment being placed against me in 2017 since they have admit there has been no attempt to chase or provide an alternative solution since 2014 and that both offers of payment have been rejected?
Thanks in advance for any advice ....

Hi,
Obviously they didn't pursue it first time around, as payments were unaffordable to you.
Looks like they resurrected the claim this year as maybe they think you can now afford it, so have settled for the £10 per month.
They don't have to accept any offers as judgement was awarded in their favour.

Thanks for the reply.
Surely there must be a time limit on the case due to changes in financial matters0 -
