Credit Score Jump

My wife and I recently got a mortgage approved through Halifax, I was pleasantly surprised that it was approved as I had a DMP in the last year but it was a nice surprise. Since clearing my debt and getting back on track I have been very careful and signed up with experian to track my report, when I checked the recent report I was chuffed to see that my score had jumped up a couple of hundred points??? It was bizarre, has anyone had this experience?

Conversely despite Halifax approving us for 400K Loan I have since been rejected for a credit card. I really do not have faith in the whole credit scoring system, I guess there has to be a benchmark, but one would wonder how accurate and how accountable our financial institutions are in recording or data correctly.

Omg you were chuffed when a score goes up by a hundred points, now to pop that excitement, only you get to see that, lenders see your credit history.

Its all about change re the score going up.

Im not surprised Halifax turned you down for a credit card when you were approved for a 400k loan, lol thats the mortgage isnt it.

The lenders have to do things by the book as at a guess/a stab in the dark they are heavily regulated.

It's double points month in September, where everyone gets a Brucie bonus.
