Butlins holidays offers for 2008

  • I have been going on Butlins holidays for a few years now and always have a few Sun newspaper holidays, a weekend/midweek and also a main week away. I never understand how Butlins work out their prices though. We had a week in July half board 2 adults/2 children it was £540 the SAME holiday the following year they wanted £1040!!!! This was EXACTLY the same week/accomodation type/kids ages etc etc and this was the REDUCED price.

I monitored this years holiday from December to May and the price only ever changed by £40, pretty rubbish really. For 2008 I am saving my Tesco vouchers.

The other cheapest way by far is to book when you are already there, we would have booked 2008 but due to hubbys work we cant book that far ahead. But looking at the difference between if we had booked on site during 2007 for 2008 compared to the online price fot that week now we would have saved £300 approx.

I dont know if you can visit as a day entrance guest and book at these prices though or if you have to be a holiday guest- does anyone know????

Think you can go through Quidco too for Butlins bookings. Also last year you could get up to 15% off with HSBC if you bank there. HTH.
  • The prices have gone up since yesterday. I was looking at a break in april at Skegness and it was half price but isnt now.
Am i here to save money or spend money......hmmmmm

Butlins does have genuine half price offers that do seem to come about either when the brochures first come out and sometimes after the new year. The half price offers are very popular and they don't appear to be readvertised if they have met their bookings quota. We have missed out on this before. Even though we still got a discount it was not as good as half price.

We have also used the special offers (9.50) per person per night offers out of the Sun etc. Whilst they are good for if you want self catering (if you can get one for Butlins), we like to go half board and find that the half price half board holidays are better value.

We stayed at both Butlins (Skegness) and Pontins (Southport) and in our opinion there is no comparision Butlins is streets ahead in accommodation, cleanliness, facilities and entertainment.

If you've missed the offer at the moment I would wait till the New Year to see if the offers are reintroduced.

Just received an email today to say that the half price offers have now been extended until 31st October 2007.

No it's not in the right place. The right place is the travel board where you have ALREADY posted (and I didn't mean to thank you).

What a spiteful and nasty thing to say :(
