LEGAL SCAM: World Lottery Club - subscription amounts & TRUSTPILOT

When you play the lottery they subscribe you to a weekly game - and then RAISE the amount successively each time without telling you the newer amounts. You've signed a blank cheque.

You may start with £19 but the next will be £41 and then £61 etc. YOU ARE NOT NOTIFIED about the increased amount. And this is not regulated by law - as it's under the £100 minimum for Section 75 via the Credit Cards regulations.

Most will only notice this on their monthly statements, by which time they have fleece at least 3 unauthorised higher payments from the player.

ALSO they have a prize draw with TRUSTPILOT itself to give fake their high ratings, and compensate for the many complaints they have about this scam.... From their website:

"To be automatically entered into the Trustpilot review prize draw, Players must place one review on Trustpilot about World Lottery Club. Maximum one entry per Player."

Who can we report this to? ALL BUSINESSES SHOULD BE REGULATED TO NOTIFY AND AGREE THE AMOUNT of ANY charge in ADVANCE before charging it, or it should be disputable.

  • Hello,

I have just noticed this on my bank account and see I have been billed in excess of £125.

I do not remember ever clicking to subscribe to any such feature.

I have emailed them to ask when this was set up and what can be done.

    Any Advise?

    Thanks in advance

I run an Online business directory that they registered themselves in a few years ago.

They don't display their telephone number with their listing so people ring me instead thinking I am connected with them.

They must be making a fortune from the people who don't read terms and conditions properly judging by the amount of calls I receive about them.

Phone your bank and demand a chargeback.
  • We were hit by the World Lottery Club Scam from November 2017 to March 2018 from amounts taken out at spurious early hours of the morning ranging from £2 to £103.

Saw this by accident on our bank account - over four months, they have STOLEN £1329.50 from us (circa £400 per month).

Went to our bank who claimed transactions seemed legitimate.

Anyone had any success with their banks in getting money that WORLD LOTTERY CLUB has FRAUDULENTLY STOLEN from them.

Ombudsman and Gaming Commission Next - lets get these thieves closed down!

So they took money out over a period of 4 months, did you not check the accounts on a regular basis ?

I use them only when they send me an offer.

It is very clear during the process if you also want a subscription. You have to remove the tick from the box.
