Chimney Breast - Boiler - TV

hi all,
so, had a minor panic when we moved in to our house, wasnt sure if the backboiler setup was safe, turns out it is as its encased in a steel box.
Now, I would like to attach the TV to the wall (we dont use the firefront for the backboiler). Getting the bracket on the wall is fine, and easy enough to do, however!
I would like to hide the cables to the tv, the only way I can see to do this would be to drill through the chimney breast and feed the cable down and exit through the side of the chimney breast, can anyone advise if this is do-able or would I be affecting the safety of the backboiler and flue by doing so?
