Parking Fine Court Summons

Hey guys,
I have just received a court notice from a car parking company and this is the first I have heard about it. I sold the car a long time ago and it was registered to my parents house (we haven't spoken in years) and post they get for me they write "not at this address" and send it back.
My dad accidentally opened a letter thinking it was for him and it seems it is a court summons for a car I no longer own but it seems I may have been the driver. He forwarded it on this time with an accompanying note. The orginal charge is about £60 but now they are trying to claim £400+ can some one advise me on if I now have to pay this amount or can I get it reduced?
It was actually for parking outside of my flat when our electric gates were broken for a few days, according the the summons the have photos of my car being there for longer than the allotted time :
Any help would be welcome don this please

On what date were the court papers issued? Are they from the Northampton CCBC?
Which parking company is pursuing you?
Note - what you've received is not a 'summons'!Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Read the NEWBIES thread post #2, acknowledge the claim* and tell us which PPC issued it?
*it isn't a summons - Umkomaas is quicker than me tonight!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You might just scrape in to Acknowledge Service (AOS). Do that right away NOW! State you will defend in full. Do not contest jurisdiction. Do not put anything at all in the defence box. You will develop your defence over the next couple of weeks. So it is a claim form from County Court Business Centre - issued on 14/08/2017
I can't emphasise how important it is to do the AOS now. If you don't, you'll get a default judgment against you for the full £400+ they are asking for. Don't pay that and you're staring down the barrel of a CCJ and a road crash of your credit rating. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Are you doing this online? Can't you just delete it?
As you're now at the serious end of this, please make sure you get your spellings correct. You will not be submitting any defense - not unless you're going to do it in the USA.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
