Monarch flights (General) + Malaga

Hi People,

I have a week booked off work w/c 18 of july and have been monitoring the price of flights to malaga (from manchester) for for the last few weeks.

There is a flight that goes out on the friday night (21:00 i think) prior to w/c 18th of july so i can get 9 days in (coming back sat or sun), which will just fit in nicely.

However i have watched over the last few weeks the price of the outbound flight rise from £60 to £75 and now £90!!!

I thought the price of the flights were meant to come down and not go up!

Does anyone have any idea of how monarch come up with there prices, and does anyone think they'll come down, and can anyone find cheap return flights during that period, cos im sturggling

please help!

thanks
Cheers Petchy

generally the price of flights go up nearer the time of departure , whereas the price of package holidays come down.
have had a quick look for flights for you but no joy so far !

PRICES GO UP THE NEARER THE DEPARTURE DATE.

That's the rule for ALL low cost airlines - and most charter companies as well

A bit messy I know (with 2 suppliers and a night flight back), but the following is copied & pasted from the https://www.skyscanner.net website just now.

    Sat Jul 16, 15:00 - 18:50 First Choice MAN AGP DP2646 live £67.50 £87.50
    Sun Jul 24, 02:50 - 04:35 monarch AGP MAN ZB577 live £45.38 £53.16
    Total Price: £112.88 £140.66

Works out at £70 each way (inc taxes) - any good?

A tip for next year... sign up for all the low cost airlines' e-mail alerts to special offers and new timetable releases. Start looking around their websites from end of September. ** Just don't take my seats ;) **

Scheduled flights always go up. Because they are sold in block bookings, ie the first 25 seats are sold cheap then as demand is needed the price goes up. Charter flights can vary upon demand, but remember most travel companies use charter flights for there brochure flights.

also if you require more than 2 seats for a scheduled flights, check prices for different number of people cause the price can change.

I booked with easyjet to fly liverpool/belfast for 1 night i wanted 6 seats when i put in 2 adults the price was 50p per seat+ taxes when i put 6 adults in it was £7.99 per person, this is because my number of people was going into the next number of allocated seats, i worked my way down with different numbers of people. I ended up doing 2 bookings 1 for 4 adults at 50p + taxes the other 2 adults were £7.99 = taxes. As it was just for family we added the 2 totals up and divided by 6. But this was still a saving, than paying the dearer ammount for the 6 adults.
