Hi, I bought a private plate, which is in my car. My husband is now going to have my car & I am getting a newer one - he can't keep my plate as a bit embarrassing for a bloke, so I want to transfer it to my new vehicle when I get it.
I have read up a bit, but very confused how to sort plate, tax & insurance before I drive it home as it's an hour away! Also my old car, which will be his will need its old plate back on & insurance tax etc - it's giving me a headache 😩
Not to mention changing parking permits !
So the question basically is;
What is the best way of doing this lot ?
In what order, to make it go smoothly?
Thank you in advance for any help

Is your new car a NEW car? If so, just ask the dealer to do it for you.
If it's a used car, then the simplest is just to transfer the plate online.
