Admiral assumptions - auto renew

I have taken out my motor insurance with Aviva - last year, I was with Admiral
This morning - I received an email from Admiral that really annoyed me - informing me that they had tried to take funds from my bank account and failed "Please fix this ASAP".... (or words to that effect ...
I had informed Admiral by email 11 months ago to cancel any planned Auto renew - yet they still tried
Luckily - I had changed my debit card in the meantime !
I hate "auto renew" and it should be made illegal !

When taking out the policy you will have agreed to it's conditions. This includes the autorenewal situation.
Admiral do require you to call them to stop autorenewal. Did your email get any acknowledgement0 -

Should everything that you don't like be made illegal? Could you provide us with a list so that we know what laws we might be breaking in the future?
As you should know there is a perfectly good reason for autorenewal of car insurance, and one bad exerience doesn't invalidate that reason. You really aren't that important.0 -

This is a problem that I have all of the time - I am disabled - unable to speak on the phone !
Admiral (unlike many others) - do not have a "do not autorenew - tick box"0 -
Looks like a admin error on their part.
Reply with a copy of their acknowledgement and ask them to confirm they have lapsed your policy from its end date.0
