Becoming Self-employed offering different services/products

Hi,
Just a quick query really. I would like to bring in a little extra cash and am looking at the possibility of becoming self employed. However I do not want to 'specialise' too early.
For example, I would ike to offer bookkeeping, small business financial advice, along with small IT repair service. Plus also a photography operation -basically selling photos.
Now would there be any problem with this from a regulatory point of view? For example, if I bought the camera through the 'business' but photo sales were not large in comparison to income from other bits of work.
Would I have to keep 'operations' i.e. photography and bookkeeping seperate?
All would be run on a sole-trader basis

HMRC would view photography as quite different to book keeping, although I think you could get away with putting book keeping, IT and financial advice under 'Business Services' (unless of course you were taking photos of products, etc for customers).
Don't forget that if you make a loss in one business, you can set it against the profit of the other business.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
Not really related to the original question, but may be of some use further on down the line...
If you plan on selling photographs then take a look at http://www.ktools.net/photostore/. I was working on a project using this a couple of years back, and I was pretty impressed with the application. Price has gone up a bit though
