Possible MSE collective tariff
Options
I've just been in contact with British Gas about my MSE Collective tariff ending.
They were a bit hazy with the details but insisted I should wait until (specifically) the 20th September before switching to a different tariff as there is a "special tariff" coming on/around that date. They said they can't confirm what it is or if it's definitely coming but just to 'check again' on the 20th. They told me this without even trying to sell me their other normal tariffs.
I am making the assumption that it's the new MSE collective fix tariff so just a heads up to anyone thinking about switching supplier.

I won't trust BG staff as far as I could throw them. The Customer Service staff have been lying through their teeth about exit fees from the collective and now OFGEM is investigating their frankly shocking behaviour.
However if you had been reading this week's MSE Newsletter you will have seen that MSE have an announcement about a collective deal on Wednesday 6th September 2017. But don't expect it to be cheaper than your current deal.0 -
Well, I was going to switch to EDF. Not sure about waiting until 20th, but if the new MSE collective beats EDF that might be good.0
