Noisey Fridge Freezer - New

Hi MSE,
My partner and I purchased a Fridge-freezer from AO.
The reviews said it was rather noisey but a good model.
Anyhow, it came and it looked great but it is noisey! Ive never known a device to grunt and grumble so much.
After sending a video to indesit on twitter they sent an engineer round to inspect it. He said it all seemed fine but the compressor was very loud, especially for a new model.
Indesit asked I'd like an upgrade - but couldnt tell me what model there and then. I refused and asked for a new replacement.
We have received a new one straight from the warehouse but this is the exact same! We really dont know what to do.
I feel like complaining - again. Would they let us have a different model? Do I record the sounds and send them in? Really don't know what to do.

Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

The OP did. They said it was "rather noisy" but the OP still bought that model.
It was rather noisy......:undecided
I rather like my slightly grumbling FF. It has a bit more character than most of the other appliances, which just get on with their jobs, almost without comment.
I'm sure that in a few years time advances in robotics will give machines stronger personalities. Perhaps OP has a 'grudging obedience' prototype?0 -
You have 14 days to return under distance selling regulations. I suggest you do that."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

Reading OPs first post, I suspect it is more than 14 days since purchase?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

My FF looks exactly the same & in an Indesit. It is quite noisy when the compressor is running. Can't say it really bothers me though0

Ours is one of the self defrosting models which works well but you do have to put up with the pops and occasional bangs it appears to have to make to keep it frost free when running, I would be worried now if it stopped making them.:D0

My Indesit FF is also noisy. I'm almost relieved to hear that it's not the only one. We like the interior layout.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Hi Our Indesit Fridge Freezer was installed about 22 months ago and it has now been confirmed that the cabinet in which it is housed, has been fitted incorrectly. The back of the unit should have a 45 mm gap to allow airflow over the condenser unit, but it has been blocked off at the top (no air flow). Are there any technicians here who can say what effect this will have on the life of the unit and due to the heat generated is this a fire hazard? Thanks0
