Should I save to buy or rent soon not knowing what the future will hold. Age 21

The key things to remember as a 21 year old today are that phrases like "Ladder" and "Prime Location" are nothing more than quaint sales pitch phrases from an earlier time, they have historical value only now, and that older sellers and developers need you much more than you need them

Save as much as possible and look to buy, I'm 31 on Monday and me and my partner are buying our first home, we've lived together in rented accommodation since university and would have been able to buy so much sooner if we'd been in the position to each live at home and not move for jobs.
I know it's expensive buying now and people x amount of years had it better but to know you own the property you are living in is a great feeling my friends tell me and I hate my rent payments paying for someone else's mortgage and they have at least two properties they own.0 -
Save. Look on the mortgage free and debt free wannabe diaries. You'll find such inspiration to save and get great value for the money you spend.
Challenge each other over who can save the most. You're on a great income for your age. You probably worked incredibly hard to get those jobs, now put the same focus on saving. Good luck!"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
