Well no overdraft fee charge from Nat west as they edited all transactions after couple of days and credited my account before debited it. Santander stayed the same and charging me overdraft fee. I have been with santander for 20 years and that's why I kept it. Nat west since married. I shall say goodbye to santander!!
You might be better advised saying to them something along the lines of "employer payroll error led to (very) temporary overdraft which I addressed immediately I became aware of it (on the same day), any chance of waiving the charge on a one-off goodwill basis, given 20 years of exemplary account conduct [blah, blah]?" - it seems a bit of an overreaction to move when they haven't actually done anything wrong but your choice!
