Trace Enquiry from BW Legal

Hi, this is my first time posting here so please bare with me.
Today I logged into my equifax account and noticed a Trace enquiry had been made on my credit file on 30/06/2017 by BW legal. Since doing a few searches on the internet I'm guessing this is a parking related matter. I live in Stockport and occasionally use the peel centre car park which is an excel car park. If I'm there less than 15 mins I don't pay and if I'm going to be longer than that I always pay so I'm not sure how I could have been issued with a PCN. Also I haven't received anything in the post or via email or phone.
At the time the Search on my credit file was made my car was registered in Scotland as I was up there working for about 6 months. I didn't see the point in changing my address on my credit file as I knew I would be coming back to stockport so I just left it at my Stockport address.
Does anyone know what I should expect, and can anyone give me any advise on what I should do from here.
Thanks

chances are BW LEGAL will send you an LBC on behalf of excel , so they have the correct address for service now this trace has been done (MCOL rules change in 5 weeks time so I suspect they are starting to ensure they have the correct details for people)
once you get the LBC , you can issue a rebuttal, there are hundreds or thousands of similar threads on here about BW LEGAL, and about the Peel Centre and Excel
this may well result in you getting an MCOL and having to fight it in court , there are dozens and dozens going through manchester and stockport courts at the moment regarding the PEEL CENTRE and the one in Chorlton centre too
a forum search using BW LEGAL should yield plenty of results
also read the blogs on parking pranksters blogsite too0 -

Please read other Peel Centre threads from the past year, do a search.
And post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQS sticky thread, which will prepare you to beat the claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Do you even know if you have been issued with a PCN? BW Legal deal with other types of claims and debt recovery. Not just parking cases.0

Why not make a complaint to the Financial Conduct Authority about BW Legal making unauthorised checks on your credit file. You have no [proven] relationship with them or any or their clients.
From the Consumer Credit SourcebookA firm undertaking a credit reference search should not leave evidence of an application on a credit file where a customer is not yet ready to apply
These checks are known as "soft credit searches" but Experian saysCan anyone search my report? return to top
No, searches can only be made with your consent. This is usually given at the time you apply to a lender.
So the first question is to the Equifax to ask what evidence was given that allowed BW to search their Credit file?
BW Legal also may be misusing your personal information under the Data Protection Act so get onto the FCA as a first step. BW are regulated by them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It appears they think you are going to take "credit" out with them. They also may be misusing your personal information under the Data Protection Act so get onto the FCA as a first step. BW are regulated by them.
But it is not a credit search, it is a trace.
Anyway I'd rather have a trace on my credit file than a default judgment at an old address and having to go through the whole set-aside procedure.0
