Getting Smart Metrr from EP if constantly switching provider

I offen switch EP and wondered firstly when will I have to be provided with a SM and secondly, if I constantly switch how will this work/be?

Any assistance will e greatly appreciated.

Ignore SM for the next couple of years .
System not working and no real benefit in having a SM yet .

You may not get one in five years at least anyway. British Gas have been installing them for nearly 10 years and over 50% of customers still have dumb meters.
Most suppliers have only just started installing them two years ago.
Up to 50% of customers offered one are refusing them anyway
Some people, and the Government have strange ideas about the speed of the roll out. The installers are working at a snails pace.
2030 is a realistic roll out target not 2020.
