Santander Zero Credit Card for abroad?

Options
I recently got a Santander Zero credit card for using abroad and happily used it abroad.

However I have just been informed I have a medical condition and it is now likely that I will never holiday abroad again so never using the card again.

What should I do with the Santander Zero card?

Put it in a drawer and forget about it or cancel it?

I have a Nationwide Select cashback card for using at home.
over 73 but not over the hill.

  • I'm currently travelling the world uninsured, due to a medical condition.

Get an EHIC card and enjoy Europe.

Do you have any other credit cards, I'd want at least two.

If you have an alternative to the Nationwide card then you can cancel if you want, but no particular need to, keep it if you want.
  • It may also be worth checking your T&C. On mine (card issued earlier this year) they state if there are no transactions or a nil balance for a period of six months or more then they reserve the right to close the account. They will however contact you to determine if you intend to use the card again before doing this and will give you two months’ notice if they do so.

Travel insurance is the least of my worries.

Surely having a no fee credit card and wondering what to do with it is the least of your worries?
