    Morning everyone,

It was so foggy first thing but burning off now, hopefully we will see some sunshine.

The yard I looked at yesterday was nice and on the surface relatively cheap but when you looked at all the hidden costs it will quickly add up, am off to see my first choice this afternoon and whilst on the face of it more expensive you do at least have most things covered.
Towels have been changed and are in the WM, the bed will be next, did most other things yesterday so fairly up to date, supper is prawn & chorizo pasta so easy peasy.
Sorry that you are disappointed with your haircut Holly would it help to put some slices of colour through, just to change things a tad?
Gggrr on the cyclist TRU what an ignoramus
Re length of puppy walks it's wise to limit them to protect young soft bones, Rosie being a lab and therefore at risk of hip problems was limited to 20 mins well into her first year, 13 years on she has a bit of arthritis but still very mobile so worth the care.
Have a good Friday folks x
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Pinch and a punch for the first of the month.

So the first of September and brrr..... it was down to single figures first thing, its a bit warmer now, the sun is out, but we are forecast rain.

I have towels in the washer, hopefully they will dry.

I spent a while yesterday packing up and sorting the bits for the embroidery machine I have sold, still waiting for my friend to contact me about collecting it.

Friday clean to do, I need to empty the kitchen and give the floor a good going over. OH tells me he is going out into the garden and 'sort things out' what ever that means.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the hairdresser HollyH. Our hairdresser in the village is very good, does exactly what you ask for, I asked for an inch off my hair, an inch she took off. I will go again at the end of this month to get it tidied before the wedding of the year.

No fish and chips tonight, salmon with new potato's, peas and parsley sauce, just for a change.
  • TRU it's actually against the law to cycle on the pavement, our local kids (and some adults) are constantly in trouble with the community support officers if they're seen doing so. If the stupid, inconsiderate fool DOES report the incident to the police I feel he'll be in far deeper water than Scamps and you! xxx

Re puppy walking, 5 mins per month , per day after the initial jabs, is what my vets recommend , until they're fully grown :)
HESTER I looked at TASSIMOS, but have just ended up getting a really good deal on a NESPRESSO , via the club. They have more compatible pods too .HTH ;)

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Pinch punch the first of the month....and no returns :D.

The blinds are shut but I can see sunshine peeking around the edges so I am hopeful it is going to be a lovely day today. Steve has gone to work but is on his usual half day so I will see him just after lunch. Lilly and Becky are still asleep and Phoebe actually left the house yesterday to go to a sleepover at her friends house. Wonders will never cease!

I have a lovely quiet day today with no appointments. My sister is coming over after work and taking Becky to hers for a girly/emo sleepover. Becky is very much looking forward to it and so am I as I know she will be in very safe hands and I can relax. I love my sister very much :smileyhea

The mince and dumplings wasn't all I hoped it would be yesterday as I think the suet was a bit elderly and I had horrible heartburn all evening. Never mind, the dog thought it was lovely :D. I am just going to cook fish and chips tonight but I will have salad with mine rather than chips.

I had my blood taken the other day and went online last night to look at the results. All my tests have come back abnormal so I am expecting a phone call today from my GP. I am trying not to stress over it as it won't change anything so I will wait to see what my doctor says.

Oh Holly, I am so sorry about your haircut. I loathe getting mine cut as they never do it as I ask. I have a hairdresser who comes to the house and cuts the girls hair but I just ask her to trim mine every now and then. Sending you a hug and an offer of a knitted hat xxx

Blimey Tru, poor Scampi. Hope he gets over the stressful experience quickly. We have a lot of problems on the Tarka Trail with the lycra lot on their racing bikes. Most of them don't have a bell even and Steve has had a lot of abuse from them as they nearly run him and Max over.

Well, I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

I do understand about puppies and walking, my neighbour is anal about it and takes a timer with him.

Good morning everyone, thanks to nmlc for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.
Holly - how horrible for you I can completely understand why you're upset.

Yesterday was a day of unplanned (though welcome) visitors so it passed very quickly.

Today I'm for a quiet one as not feeling fab, have sorted out an on-line shop for my Dad and I'm waiting for mine to be delivered. I suspect this afternoon will be feet up and my book.

I hope everyone has a good day x

    Morning all,

Had a lovely walk with Lyla this morning, clear blue sky, though it's going a bit cloudy now.We did the 5 mins per month with her when she was a pup and have always been careful not to overwalk her to try to avoid joint issues with her being such a large dog-she still does have problems if we're not careful.Newfoundlands are gorgeous,we've known a few, they grow big too :D

Tru I am very indignant on Scampis behalf.Hope your stretches do the trick.

Speky your afternoon tea sounds wonderful, you are very thoughtful.

Holly-what a shame about the haircut.Hair is very important,if it looks good it makes us feel good too.

I had a nice surprise when I opened the front door-a big bag of Bramley apples left by a friend of DH-guess what I'm doing later :D I may be able to hang the dog blankets out today- I think the flagging job at the back of us may be finished. The table is covered in a thick layer of dust too. The woman who lives backing onto us will spend loads of money on decking and flagging and paths and steps but leaves the 80ft high conifers/dead tree/dead 20 ft high privet that cut all the afternoon sun off for us and next door  She's out like a shot if she hears a hedge trimmer to make sure we don't cut anything off.The only thing we do cut off is the vicious thick brambles that poke through the conifers over onto our side :(

DS has just rung,he was doing a job outside his house he's renovating, and it's started raining so he cant finish it,so I suppose it wont be long before it starts here.It went really chilly last night,DH lit the log burner.

I dug the breadmaker out yesterday in view of our economy drive, the men eat so much I need to make another
    Have a good day all

Holly...bad hair can really sap your confidence...but....go to town and find a hat shop...try a few different shapes...a cloche or a tam o shanter -there are so many!- and look out some lovely scarves and play with your look, like teenagers do. Fish through that make up bag and look online....take time to look after yourself and start looking for a new hairdresser!
