Have all the posts up on an entrance or all of them down!
The host of the party last week at the local community hall very kindly lowered the posts and let several of us into the special bit of the car park that is reserved for people taking equipment in.
He only lowered two of the three posts - that made the gap plenty wide enough to drive a normal-sized car through. The remaining post stayed up & was easy to see in the bright sunlight at midday. You can guess where this might lead . . .
At midnight, as we were packing the cars I luckily noticed the third post, only two foot high, grey metal, hardly visible in the dark. Phew. Good job I noticed. I told the friends who were driving & they were all quite relieved I had pointed it out. Backing out of a car park in the dark it would have been very easy to miss. Can you imagine the damage to your car from a post? Ew.
The moral of the story is: either have all of the posts up on an entrance or all of them down!

So everyone who parked there (including you) forgot that there was one post still up?.
I think the moral of this story is to always reverse into spaces in a car park and then drive out. The headlights of the cars would then make the post very easy to see.0 -

And the additional moral of the story is only reverse when its safe to do so, and at an appropriate speed.
What if uncle Fred had fallen over in between you getting into the car and reversing, he would have been under 2ft high lying down, imagine the damage you would have done to him. Ew.0
