Relocation to UK & rebuilding credit

Hi,
I have moved back to the UK after 5 years of absence
New job starts in Sept and if all goes well we're relocating back to UK for good. We have a mortagge and apartment in a big city in Europe. The housing market is booming there. We'd like to sell our old home in EU by April (in 7 months) and take out a >60% LTV mortagge to buy something in the Sout-West. Preferably while the pound is still cheap
Hubby has been away for 5 years too and will only join me in spring once the old apartment is sold, so it's up to me to build up a credit score in the UK.
Is it realistic to build up enough credit in 7 months so that I can take out a mortagge for 60% LTV? I've signed up for electoral roll but they said they'll put me on the list only on December 1st. Seems like an awfully long time to wait... Right now I'm in none of the systems and can't even apply for the "bad" credit cards. It's not a major problem... I have no immediate need for a credit card or phone contract but would simply like to effectively build up a score so that I'm ready in spring.
Is there anything sensible I can do at present to build my credit score? Or should I simply take the chill pill until December?
Thanks!

Your not building up a credit score, a credit history is what lenders see.
Patience would be a good thing to have first as it could be a lenghty process.
Where have you got a property to live in the UK as you need 1 to get on the ER I would have thought ?0 -
